A Note From Dan
In The Yoga Project, a down-and-not-quite-out yoga teacher receives an offer that seems too good to be true. Alas, it is. How could it not be? Unsolicited offers target us daily. We’ve been identified, selected, chosen. Fifteen percent off a hotel night if we open a new line of credit. Zero percent for six months, then twenty-four. Always the same guise: something special, just for you. But you’re being preyed on. The posts lure, flatter, give you cachet. Then you get fleeced.
AI is a con man. You’ve outsourced the best parts of your mind to a faithless suitor. The same mechanism that sells you a credit card sells you enlightenment. It’s how business is done, and no one escapes it.
The arc of history is long, but it bends toward justice. Or is that just another lie, a hope that crumbles on inspection?
Consider the most unfortunate among us, and that it could happen to you. Not could, will. Your home, your savings, your health, your sanity, all of it can slip. Your ideas aren’t even your own anymore. It takes every last ounce of will to protect your mind from those who would control it.
Into this precarious world, we cultivate peace, healing, generosity, love. We’re devoted to those we come to know as we venture into the gathering storm.
Is there such a thing as a sincere spiritual quest? The con started long ago. What passed for wisdom was just another tool of control.
We offer this piece with joy and hope anyway. We made it together, in person and over a few Zooms. We had some fun too. We hope you do too.

Sahara said “yes” to the ritual moving through this collective. So she is honored by what is to unfold, by the art desires to occur. You may have come here for art. May you leave bearing something that remembers you. The uncomfortable truth. The thing you knew before you agreed not to know it. The breath returning to the body. The body remembering its will. The moment before we finally stop betraying ourselves and discover the reason why we are here: to breathe, reclaim our agency and accept responsibility for each other.
